Building lookup tables through Xactly

During one of our implementations of Xactly, the team was faced with a challenge as it relates to rate tables. The component paid at different rates, depending on whether certain requirements were met. After working through different options, we were able to leverage the application’s capabilities around lookup tables to help create a solution that would work. We defined several dimensions in the lookup table to determine which rate table to return. By doing this, it allowed us to use a single commission rule to enable the calculation.

For certain types of compensation plans, lookup tables can significantly reduce and simplify the rules, rate tables, and formulas that you need to define. They can be used in formulas to look up one or more Incent objects to derive amounts or rates in a plan. This solution was ultimately tested and provided additional value, allowing the requirements to be defined in the lookup and simplifying the plans.
