Adam Thorn

Regional Vice President, EMEA

“Many people responsible for sales compensation don’t realize there is an industry out there built to make their lives easier. “

OpenSymmetry’s Regional Vice President of EMEA, Adam Thorn, is a driving force behind the company’s success in the competitive European market. With his expertise in Sales Performance Management and Operational Technology Management, Thorn leads the sales team to provide clients with cutting-edge technologies to create digital experiences and manage customer bases.

Adam Thorn has worked through all facets of SPM applications, starting in implementation services at NICE, pre-sales at IBM, and sales across the EMEA region at Varicent. Covering a wide range of industries across Europe, his focus was on helping organizations realize the tangible benefits through the implementation of dedicated technology. Now as the Senior Sales Director of EMEA, Adam’s focus is on supporting customers and partners by offering a wide range of consultancy, implementation, and managed services, delivered by its large team of experienced professionals.

Thorn’s experience in managing sales operations in the tech industry has allowed us to develop a deep understanding of the challenges businesses face in optimizing their sales performance. As a result, we’ve helped clients improve sales performance and increase operational efficiency through digital workflows, incentive compensation management, and digital portfolio management.

The best piece of advice that Adam can give any organization to best leverage SPM to ensure growth is to take full advantage of the rich data available. The accurate and rich data can help your sales team understand their target(s), compensation data, performance and commission payments, and ultimately be a great motivator. It also provides significant value to administrators and those determining the structure and focus of compensation plans.

Working at OS, he appreciates the conversations that he has with clients and prospects, educating them on the importance of SPM technology helping align corporate objectives to sales incentives. SPM software solutions can empower users, making them less dependent on internal talent and external resources to manage and maintain their SPM processes. This independence offers users more control over their sales compensation platform and compensation data.

“Many people responsible for sales compensation don’t realize there is an industry out there built to make their lives easier,” – Adam Thorn.

Adam has seen how SPM technology has changed the world of sales by shining a light on the darkest part of organizations. Not having an SPM solution can cause many challenges like payment delays, high staff turnover, and limit an organization’s ability to be proactive.

According to Adam, the “OS bowtie” represents where an organization is on their SPM journey and how OS can help to provide a solid foundation from planning, deployment, and managing the solution. Organizations can use the bowtie methodology to overcome the challenges they are currently facing and use their SPM solution’s groundwork across the entire company.

Adam’s SPM superpower is his knowledge across a wide range of platforms.
